Day 1. Arrival in Tunis. Flight time from Warsaw is 4 hours
Your motorcycle adventure begins when you board the plane in Warsaw (or another airport of your choice). That's the only challenge you'll face on this day.
During the comfortable and direct flight to Tunis, you can relax and dream about the adventures that await you. When you land, our trusted driver will be waiting for you at the airport with an ADVPoland sign, ready to welcome you with a warm smile.
After a short ride to the hotel, you'll be able to shake off the travel fatigue and unwind in a comfortable setting. There, your motorcycle and a welcome drink await, ready to invigorate your senses and kick off your Tunisian adventure in an extraordinary way.
In the evening, during a brief meeting, you will learn everything you need to know about the upcoming days. Our instructor will explain the rules of riding, planned routes, and the attractions that await you. It's the perfect moment to immerse yourself in the Spirit of GS atmosphere and prepare for exploring Tunisia on two wheels.
Day 1. Tunis - Subaytila, Distance 310 km, to be covered in about 7 hours.
You begin your journey straight from Tunis, ready for an exciting 310 kilometers on asphalt. This is the first day of your adventure, full of experiences and the Spirit of GS. During the first stop in Thugga, you will discover the ruins of an ancient city that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a place with an extraordinary history that will speak to your imagination. Then, on your route, you will come across more cities full of mysterious history. In Maksar, you will stop to explore the famous ruins of an arch of triumph.
The landscape will change, becoming increasingly desert-like, dry, and sandy, and you will have the opportunity to experience riding in the true spirit of Adventure.
At the end of the day, you will reach the outskirts of the city of Subaytila, where a well-deserved rest awaits you.
Day 3. Subajtila - Tauzar, distance 260 km, to cover in approximately 6 hours
After the first night on the road, you wake up to a day full of motorcycle adventures. As you hit the road, we'll pass through the region of the Djebel National Park with Tunisia's highest peak. It's the moment when you'll feel like you're in the heart of the adventure, surrounded by spectacular landscapes.
Later in the day, we'll cross the mountain range that separates us from the Sahara Desert. But before that, an unforgettable gravel stretch awaits us on the famous Rommla military road. We'll begin our journey southward, and then we'll ascend on narrow asphalt, climbing mountain switchbacks. It's the moment when you'll truly feel the spirit of Adventure and the Spirit of GS taking over.
On this challenging route, you'll also encounter two charming mountain oases, Chebika and Tamerza, with tiny waterfalls where we'll stop for some mint tea. It's the perfect moment for relaxation and admiring the beauty of Tunisian nature.
In the evening, we'll arrive at the vast date palm oasis in the desert - Tozeur. This place is magical, with its over 200 artesian wells. Here, you'll feel the essence of the Tunisian climate and history, immersing yourself in the authentic atmosphere of this region. This is just the beginning of your adventure, so get ready for even more extraordinary views and experiences in the days to come.
Day 4. Tauzar - Tauzar loop, distance 280 km, to be covered in approximately 8 hours.
The fourth day is a true adventure loop full of incredible experiences. Our route begins following Roman fortifications, leading us on gravel and sandy roads. It's the moment when you'll understand why your BMW GS motorcycle was created for such challenges.
Our route takes us through the area known as the 'Great Salt Flat,' where we'll find a dried-up salt lake offering unforgettable views. Desert landscapes and sun-filled scenes accompany us throughout the day.
During the day, we'll reach the green oasis of Nefta, where we'll transport ourselves to another world. This place exudes tranquility and beauty, making it the perfect spot for rest and rejuvenation.
We'll also arrive at the famous Star Wars town - the galactic port of Mos Espa. It's a real treat for fans of the saga but also an extraordinary place for everyone. After exploring the town, we'll return to our motorcycles to continue our journey. In the evening, we return to the hotel for a campfire and a feast with regional music performed by local residents.
The term 'challenging route' will take on a whole new meaning for you, but it will undoubtedly allow you to dive even deeper into the spirit of adventure and the Spirit of GS.
Day 5. Tauzar - Matmatat al Qadimal, distance 340 km, approximately 9 hours to cover.
The fifth day is a true expedition into the heart of the desert, promising you unforgettable experiences. Our route begins in the area of the Great Chott el Jerid, one of the world's largest salt flats. This place is also known as the 'Gateway to the Desert,' and you are about to enter the extraordinary world of the Sahara, considered the largest hot desert on Earth.
We reach the town of Douz, famous as the 'Gateway to the Desert.' It's a symbolic place on your motorcycle adventure.
The further part of the route takes you through pure desert landscapes. Our destination is the date palm settlement of Ksar Ghilane, which offers a glimpse into life on the edge of the Sahara. From there, we head east towards Tatouine and then to Matmata, the birthplace of Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. During the journey, we pass through picturesque Berber villages like Chenini.
On this day, you'll also see the underground homes of the Troglodytes, a unique architectural feature of this region. And at the end of this thrilling day, you'll not only have the opportunity to see these incredible places but also immerse yourself in their history and culture by spending the night in one of the traditional auberges, such as Auberge de Tamezret or Dar Ayed. It's an unforgettable chance to experience the spirit of Tunisia and the spirit of Star Wars at the same time.
Day 6. Matmatat al Qadimal - Al Mahdijja, distance 350 km, approximately 8 hours to cover.
The sixth day of our motorcycle expedition brings more excitement and beautiful views along the route. We start the day by tackling picturesque mountain roads that convince you Tunisia is a true paradise for motorcycle enthusiasts.
Our first destination is the majestic ruins of the El Jem amphitheater. This is the place where the unforgettable movie 'Gladiator' was filmed. Standing amidst these ancient walls, you'll feel like the hero of a grand spectacle.
The next stop is the Mediterranean coast and the charming town of Al-Mahdijja, a popular tourist destination. Here, we have a hotel located in the old town, where you'll experience the authentic atmosphere of Tunisia. It's a place that will provide you with unique relaxation and luxurious coastal leisure.
Day 7. Al-Mahdijja - Tunis, distance 260 km, approximately 5 hours to cover.
Today, we conclude our incredible motorcycle journey through Tunisia. The final leg of the route covers 250 kilometers and takes us back to the capital, Tunis. After intense days of off-road riding, we return to the green mountains where our adventure began.
To cap off our expedition, we have something special in store. We have the opportunity to visit the Neferis vineyard, where we will have the chance to taste exquisite local wines. It's the perfect occasion to recap our motorcycle adventure and relax in the beautiful vineyard setting.
Day 8. Flight back to Warsaw. Flight time should not exceed 4 hours.
It's time to bid farewell to Tunisia, but not forever. We will meet one last time for breakfast to share our memories, photos, and plans for the future. It has been a week filled with emotions, adventures, and unforgettable moments that will surely stay with us for a long time.
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to return the motorcycle, which has been your faithful companion during this incredible journey. It's a moment of reflection on how many fantastic places we've visited and how many kilometers we've covered on our BMW GS motorcycles.
Next, a transfer will take you to the airport. You will return to Warsaw (or another airport of your choice) safely and comfortably by plane. It's the moment when you say goodbye to Tunisia, but not forever, because motorcycle adventures will surely bring us back here someday.
