The destination of the third day is the town of Manizales with a unique atmosphere. It is located in the heart of Colombia's coffee basin. The biggest tourist attraction is the Cathedral de Manizales, which was built in the early 20th century. It has a 100-meter clock tower that offers a view of the city.
Day Four: Route from Manizales to Medelin. Distance of 280 kilometers, 100% covered with asphalt. To be covered in about 7 hours.
You'll experience countless fruit plantations and the Cuca River, with the destination of this day being Medellin. This is the infamous city of Pablo Escobar. It's famous around the world for three things - the Medelin Cartel, which Pablo Escobar ran, the cocaine capital of the world in the 1990s, and beautiful women. The country's second largest city is also the most modern city in Colombia. Medelin attracts tourists like a magnet. It will appeal to fans of the Narcos series, cocaine and beautiful women. The nightlife in Medelin is very rich - it's the perfect city to meet locals.
Day five: Leisure day in Medelin.
A day set aside to relax or explore the city. We suggest a 6-hour tour in the footsteps of Pablo Escobar, and for those willing to ride a motorcycle, an additional trip to Hacienda Napoles, (the distance is about 300 km) to the former estate of Pablo Escobar, located 150 km east of Medelin.
Day Six: Route from Medelin to Monteria. Distance of 230 km, 100% asphalt. To be covered in about 6 hours.
A long stretch to Monteria, a city in northern Colombia located 50 km from the Caribbean Sea, has been scheduled for this day. Here, the Alto de Ventanas region, famous for its diverse vegetation, waterfalls, streams, high mountain lakes and the Cauca River valley await you.
Day Seven: Route from Monteria to Cartagena, Distance of 250 km including a 5% gravel section. To be covered in 5 hours.
You'll tackle a stunning route along the coast of the Caribbean Sea on this day. The coastline is irregular and varied, and you will encounter many lagoons, coves and coral islets along the planned route. This region in Colombia is the most popular among tourists.
Day eight: Leisure day in Cartagena.
Cartagena, listed by UNESCO, is by far the most visited city in Colombia. It was actually in Cartagena where the Spaniards created the first overseas colony, to which they began importing slaves decades later. Cartagena is located directly on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. The city will appeal to everyone - here you will find great beaches, plenty of attractions and a very rich nightlife. We recommend a speedboat cruise to nearby islands.
Day nine: Route from Cartagena to Mompox, Distance 320 km, Route 100% covered with asphalt.
The route takes us to a charming village - Mompox, located in the northern part of Colombia. Mompox is located in the department of Bolivar. The interesting location is both an attraction and a hindrance to getting there. The city is located on an island formed by a branch of a river. Interestingly, so far no bridge has been built to connect the island to the mainland. As a result, Mompox, despite its many advantages, has never become a mass tourism destination. The village was declared a UNESCO heritage site in 1995 for its colonial architecture.
Day 10: Route from Mompox to Barichara, Distance 380 km, 100% asphalt.
This day we are expected to visit perhaps the most popular tourist town of Barichara. White walls, red roofs and blue-painted doors, as if taken out of the Zorro series. Narrow streets winding up and down gentle hills, all on the edge of a cliff plummeting several hundred meters down the west side of town.
Day 11: Leisure day in Barichara. Dedicated to relaxing or exploring the town.
Worth devoting a day to this place. In addition to relaxing or having an amazing coffee in the atmospheric town, you can enjoy Rafting or take a trip to the surrounding caves.
